Winches and equipment for rope handling

In the area of auxiliary equipment at SIEMAG TECBERG safety always comes first. Just as important is the practicability of these systems to keep stoppage times to an absolute minimum when working on ropes or when changing ropes.

Clamping and lifting devices

The fast, safe handling of the ropes on multi-rope systems is of especial importance on hoisting systems with high loads or deep depth.

Clamping and lifting devices can be brought into operation quickly, clamp all ropes simultaneously and hoist an entire winding compartment, if required step by step over any distance. In this way they allow:

- fast, safe rope shortening
- effective preparatory work for rope-changing, particularly if friction
  winches are used
- fast easing of loads on ropes at hoisting machine and rope sheaves
- movement of the hoisting system in emergencies

After this work the clamping or lifting devices can lower the loads in reverse operation to make the system ready for hoisting once more. For effective operation all the functions are controlled hydraulically. The highest safety is guaranteed by the appropriate design and layout of the component assemblies and an electronic interlock which prevents faulty operation.

Typical technical data:
- Traction force 1,500 kN and over more
- Lifting speed approx. 1 m/min
- Lifting height per stroke approx. 1,600 mm

Mobile friction winches

Initial rope installation and later rope changing are some of the riskiest operations in the shaft. To enable the complicated and dangerous work on large-capacity multi-rope systems and/or at depths to be carried out securely and to protect the rope, special aids are used.

Friction winches not only enable all the ropes to be pulled into the shaft but also pulled out in reverse operation. On the shaft side the maximum rope forces are applied, while on the reelers the ropes exert minimal rope tensions.

- Traction force 1,500 KN and over more
- Pulling speed up to 0.2 m/s
- Up to 10 ropes
- Slinging and pulling ropes
- Protecting the ropes
- Flexible in operation

Mobile shaft winches

Our mobile shaft winches are designed in conformance to the relevant mining regulations and officially approved by the Mining Board as hoists for the inspection of mine shafts and as emergency hoists for rescuing persons.

As with a mobile crane, the winch is driven up to the shaft and the boom positioned hydraulically. Telephone contact is maintained between the people in the conveyance and the winch operator via a cable located in the core of the hoist rope.

- Universal application in all mine shaft systems
- Mining Board approval
- Power supply via the pit power supply or alternatively from the
  ground-generated diesel unit
- All working functions hydraulically powered
- Standard design for a shaft depth of 1,100 m and a rope load of 5 t
